Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about VIZI Scores, how they work, what data is used, and how they compare to traditional credit scores.
What is a VIZI Score?
A VIZI Score is a crypto credit score that ranges from 300 to 850, just like a traditional FICO score. It measures the creditworthiness of a blockchain wallet based on its on-chain financial history — including borrowing, repayment, liquidations, collateral management, and transaction patterns across multiple chains and DeFi protocols. The score is computed entirely from publicly verifiable blockchain data.
How is my score calculated?
Your VIZI Score is calculated from 8 on-chain signals, each with a published weight: Repayment History (28%), Liquidation Events (19%), Wallet Age & Activity (15%), Collateral Ratios (12%), Average Balance (10%), Sanctions/Fraud Flags (9%), Verified Income Proxies (5%), and Protocol Diversity (2%). Each signal is normalized and weighted, then the composite is mapped to the 300–850 range. For a detailed explanation of each factor, visit our Score Factors page.
What blockchains are supported?
VIZI currently indexes on-chain data from Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, Avalanche C-Chain, Base, XRP Ledger, BNB Chain, and Optimism. Your score aggregates activity across all supported chains automatically. We are continually expanding chain support — check our Blockchain Ecosystem page for the latest list and upcoming additions.
Is VIZI a credit bureau?
No. VIZI is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). VIZI Scores are informational tools designed for the crypto and DeFi economy. They are not intended to be used for traditional consumer lending decisions governed by U.S. consumer credit law, such as mortgage approvals or auto loan underwriting. VIZI serves a parallel market: DeFi lending, crypto-backed cards, institutional risk assessment, and on-chain reputation.
How do I check my score?
Visit VIZIScan and enter any wallet address. Your VIZI Score, letter grade, confidence level, and full factor breakdown will appear instantly. No account creation, no sign-up, and no fees required. You can check as many wallets as you want, as often as you want.
Can I improve my score?
Yes. Because VIZI publishes all 8 scoring factors with exact weights, improving your score is straightforward. The most effective actions are: (1) borrow from a DeFi lending protocol and repay in full to build Repayment History, (2) maintain collateral ratios well above liquidation thresholds, (3) avoid liquidations, and (4) keep your wallet active over a long period. See the Score Factors page for a detailed breakdown of each signal.
How often does my score update?
Your VIZI Score is computed fresh every time it is queried — in real-time. There is no fixed update schedule. Because scores are calculated on-demand from the latest blockchain data, they reflect your current on-chain state, not a monthly snapshot. If you repay a loan or get liquidated, the impact is reflected in your score within minutes of the transaction being confirmed on-chain.
Who can see my score?
Because blockchain data is publicly available, anyone who knows your wallet address can query your VIZI Score. This is by design — on-chain data is inherently public. However, VIZI does not link wallet addresses to real-world identities. Your score is associated with a pseudonymous address, not with your name or personal information. There are no "hard inquiries" that affect your score, unlike traditional credit pulls.
Is my identity required?
No. VIZI does not require any personal information, KYC verification, or identity documents. All you need is a wallet address with on-chain activity. We do not collect names, emails, Social Security Numbers, or government IDs. This makes VIZI accessible to anyone in the world, regardless of citizenship, banking status, or documentation.
How do I dispute my score?
If you believe your VIZI Score is inaccurate, you can file a dispute through our Dispute a Score page. Because VIZI Scores are derived from immutable blockchain data, most disputes involve data interpretation rather than data errors. Common dispute reasons include misattributed cross-chain identity, protocol-specific edge cases, or transactions that were incorrectly classified. Our team reviews each dispute and responds within 5 business days.
What is the score range?
VIZI Scores range from 300 to 850, the same range used by FICO and VantageScore. This familiar scale makes it easy for lenders and users to interpret scores. Scores above 750 are considered excellent, 700–749 are good, 650–699 are fair, and below 650 indicates higher risk. A score of 300 is the floor and typically indicates a sanctions match or severe negative history.
Do NFTs affect my score?
No. Owning, buying, selling, or minting NFTs does not affect your VIZI Score. NFTs are not financial instruments in the lending sense, and their inclusion would introduce noise without predictive value for creditworthiness. VIZI focuses exclusively on lending, borrowing, repayment, and collateral management behavior.
Does trading affect my score?
No. Swapping tokens on decentralized exchanges (Uniswap, Curve, etc.) or trading on centralized exchanges does not impact your VIZI Score. Only lending and borrowing behavior — specifically repayment history, liquidation events, and collateral management — are credit-relevant signals. Trading volume and profitability are not scoring factors.
How do AI agents get scored?
Autonomous AI agents that operate on-chain through wallet addresses are scored using the same 8-signal model as human-controlled wallets. The VIZI Agent Score product adds additional context specific to agent behavior: transaction frequency patterns, smart contract interaction diversity, and autonomous decision-making consistency. AI agents cannot have FICO scores (they have no SSN), making VIZI the only creditworthiness signal available for this emerging category.
Is VIZI free for consumers?
Yes. Checking your own score on VIZIScan is completely free with no sign-up required. There are no fees, no trial periods, and no credit card needed. For businesses and developers who want to query scores programmatically via the API, we offer tiered pricing plans based on query volume. Visit our API Access page for pricing details.
What if my wallet has no DeFi activity?
If your wallet has never interacted with a DeFi lending protocol, you will still receive a score, but it will be based on the available signals: Wallet Age, Average Balance, Verified Income Proxies, Protocol Diversity, and Sanctions Screening. Without borrowing and repayment history, the Repayment History and Liquidation Events signals will be neutral rather than positive, resulting in a moderate score in the 450–600 range depending on other factors.
