Michael Saylor’s Strategy
Michael Saylor’s Strategy, the largest holder of Bitcoin in the world, continued to accumulate the cryptocurrency as the BTC price experienced a slight increase last week.
According to a Tuesday filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Strategy acquired 1,955 Bitcoin (BTC) for $217.4 million between September 2 and 7.
The acquisition occurred at an average price of $111,196 per coin, coinciding with a brief surge in the cryptocurrency above $113,000 last Friday, before it slipped back down to approximately $110,000, as reported by CoinGecko.
With this new purchase, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings reached 638,460 BTC as of Sunday, with a total investment of around $47.2 billion and an average price of $73,880 per BTC.
This latest Bitcoin acquisition follows a series of purchases made in August, which amounted to approximately 7,714 BTC for that month.
The company’s Bitcoin buying in August was considerably smaller than previous purchases, including a significant acquisition of 31,466 BTC in July and another 17,075 BTC acquisition in June.
The most recent purchase was financed through proceeds from three of Strategy’s at-the-market (ATM) equity offerings, which include the Series A Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock (STRF), the Series A Perpetual Strike Preferred Stock (STRK), and its own Common A stock MSTR.
